CHHAPS strives to promote a safe experience for participants and their horses.
For your Safety:
- All participants are advised to inspect their tack prior to the start of “100 Hours in 100 Days” to ensure it is in good, safe condition and well-fitted to their equine friend.
- All participants are advised to wear ASTM/SEI-approved helmets whenever mounted or driving.
- All participants are advised to wear protective footwear whenever handling or riding horses, (i.e., boots or closed-toed shoes with a study sole). No bare feet or sandals.
For your Horse’s Well-being:
- All participants are to demonstrate good stewardship for their horses throughout the “100 Hours in 100 Days” virtual event. This includes providing any care as directed by a veterinarian, appropriate conditioning and nutrition, and monitoring the horse’s well-being to promote overall good health and fitness.
- Any participant who records what appears to be an excessive number of hours for a given day, or series of days, may be contacted by the event organizers. (Perhaps there was an error in entering hours that needs editing). Repeated logging of excessive hours or counting non-qualifying activities may result in disqualification from medal eligibility.
