Our story…

On August 10, 2022, Susan Anderson gave her friend and MBA classmate Brandon Gerson the gift of life through the selfless act of living organ donation. Brandon had been diagnosed 15 years prior with a rare autoimmune condition that affected his liver and was added to the transplant list earlier that year when all other treatment options had been exhausted. Their surgeries took place at Toronto General Hospital, part of the University Health Network (UHN) and a global centre of excellence for transplant. 

To celebrate the anniversary of Susan's gift, and to kick off Living Donation Week, the pair along with friends, family as well as those touched by transplant are running together to promote awareness of organ donation and to raise funds for the Centre for Living Organ Donation.

The Centre for Living Organ Donation was created by UHN Transplant in 2018 to improve access to living organ donation for people who need a life-saving kidney or liver transplant and those who want to give a transformative gift of life.
