Melina Michelle Edenfield Foundation

I lost my youngest daughter, Melina, aged 4 ½, to DMG pediatric brain tumor on June 24, 2020. The only way we could make sense of this terrible tragedy was to try to help other families afflicted with this terrible disease. In that light, my family started the Melina Michelle Edenfield Foundation. Our Mission, Our Quest, Our Dedication, of the Melina Michelle Edenfield Foundation is to find a cure for pediatric brain tumors. Melina was our family’s miracle for 4 ½ years, and through her Foundation we believe she will be the miracle for other families forever. 

Since we started our Foundation in June of 2020, we have been able to raise over $1,000,000. We are all volunteer based so that we can donate all our proceeds. We are Visionary Partners with the DIPG Collaborative. This collaborative spans across five countries, and has over 27 foundations working together. Our collaborative is connected with an advanced medical board. We are involved with the latest in research, the development of cutting-edge treatment, and medical technologies for pediatric brain tumors. We also created a fund at Akron Children's Hospital to help serve our local community. We have donated $350,000 to Akron Children's to advance their brain tumor research and support their needs.
