Every woman deserves access to compassionate, consistent mental health support—especially during life’s most challenging moments.

The Run for Women in St. John’s directly funds two vital programs at Stella’s Circle: Naomi Centre and the Just Us Women’s Centre. Together, these programs support young women experiencing homelessness and women navigating the criminal justice system—many of whom face complex trauma, poverty, and systemic barriers to care.

Your participation and donations make something very specific—and very powerful—possible.

Funds raised through the Run sustain a shared Peer Support Worker, adding nearly 2,000 hours of direct mental health support each year. This is frontline, relationship-based care that meets women where they are, when they need it most.

That support looks like:

  • One-on-one counselling and emotional support.
  • Group programs focused on healing, connection, and resilience.
  • Outreach to women in custody and support through reintegration.
  • Advocacy, system navigation, and accompaniment to court.
  • Community-building through shared meals, walking groups, and safe spaces.

This is not one-time help. It is ongoing, trusted support from someone who understands—often through lived experience—the realities these women face.

“After I was released from prison, I spent the night wandering the streets with nowhere to go. Finding Just Us changed everything. They helped me find shelter, support, and a place to belong. I can’t put into words what it meant to feel safe.”
