Women are twice as likely as men to be diagnosed with depression or anxiety.

Despite the progress that has been made, too many women continue to face barriers when seeking care and treatment for their mental illness or addiction.

Delays in access and research have devastating effects – not only for women, but for their families as well. 

DID YOU KNOW?

  • Suicide attempts are 5 times higher in females than males
  • Females are underrepresented in clinical research, with less than 10% of global studies explicitly examining women’s health. 
  • An estimated 1 in 4 young women have self-harmed.

We must do better for those living with mental illness and addiction.
