11 years ago, Michael was diagnosed with Myelofibrosis and given just months to live. But thanks to a stem cell transplant from his sister Karen, and the exceptional care at the MUHC, Michael is here today along with his daughter Jaden celebrating 11 years cancer-free. With the help of Dr. Popradi, Dr. Storing, Dr. Ho, and the incredible team at the MUHC, Michael underwent life-saving treatment, spending six weeks in isolation and receiving the strongest chemo available to prepare for his stem cell transplant. 

Their groundbreaking research and care gave Michadl a second chance at life. Michael is forever grateful to his sister, Karen, for being my perfect match, and to his daughter, Jaden, for her unwavering inspiration. Michael is also thankful to his family, friends, and supporters who were by his side every step of the way.
