Sinister 7 Ultra Race Update
Hi |*FIRST_NAME*|,
We are just over two weeks until the 16th annual Sinister 7 Ultra! Time to cram - get in those final KMs while you can.
Take a moment to read the Racer Info Package and that should answer any of your outstanding questions.

In the previous updates, we talked about shuttles, parking, camping, wildlife, live tracking, and getting through check-in quickly. If you missed the last email updates, you can find them here.
BIB TRANSFER CUTOFF
I know y'all want to be out there on the July 13-14 weekend, but if you have to transfer your bib to someone else, you have until noon on July 5. At that point, we have to square away our paperwork and get ready for race day. Note that the bibs were already ordered, so if someone takes your bib, it will still have your name... That's why we have Sharpies!
If you need to transfer your bib, you can do it online until that time by following the easy steps on this page.

MANDATORY LEG 2 SHUTTLE
I am going to keep repeating this for the next two weeks... Leg 2 Relay runners have a mandatory shuttle from the start area to TA1. We do this in order to relieve congestion. There is almost no parking at TA1, and it gets to be a bit of a madhouse, so do not drive up there. Support crews for soloists can drive up, but they will be parking on the side of the road.
CUPLESS RACING + GELS
Just a reminder that we do not have cups at any of our aid stations on the course. That means you need your own cup, flask, bottle, or bladder to fill up. At main transitions, there are cups and bowls, primarily for hot food and drinks.
We also do not offer individually packaged gels. These wrappers get everywhere, even when people are careful. Sun River Honey provides bulk gel for us, so (once again) you need your own container. Or I'll just squeeze some into your mouth. Mmmmm!

VIRTUAL RACE BAG
We are always looking for perks to share with our competitors, and we've partnered up with some great brands to make that happen. Check out the updated Virtual Race Bag; we started this to help get paper coupons out of your swag bags, and this connects you right to each sponsor with a click. https://www.sinistersports.ca/sinister7/racebag

SOLO DROP BAGS
If you are a solo runner without a crew, you are able to use drop bags in order to have some of your favourite things at the main transition areas. Up to four drop-bags are allowed, and they will be placed at the appropriate TAs. If you are running the relay, please try and have any necessary gear with your teammates, but you are still allowed drop bags. Drop bags do not move from station to station, and they are only placed at the following locations:
- TA1
- TA2 and TA3; these are in the same location and share a drop bag
- TA4
- TA5 and TA6; these are in the same location and share a bag. This is a critical point as it is extremely remote and follows one of the toughest sections of the race; think about warm clothing and special foods to keep you going.
TA4 LOCATION CHANGE
As I mentioned in the April update, TA4 is in a completely different loction. This also means that leg 4 is about 1.5km longer, and leg 5 that much shorter. Take a look at the newsletter link near the top of this email for details.
See you soon! Train hard and have fun out there.
Kindest regards,
Brian Gallant
