The LSU Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in New Orleans proudly presents
The 37th Annual Tiger Run 5K Run & Walk!
After a 5-year hiatus, we’re back with a day of friendly competition and celebration honoring our amazing student-run organizations. All proceeds gathered from the event will go directly towards the LSUHSC School of Medicine's charitable student organizations to fund their community service activities. Funding helps us stock medical supplies for the Student Run Community Clinics, provide activities for the kids of The New Orleans Women and Children Shelter Outreach Program, and so much more!
The 37th Annual Tiger Run 5K Run & Walk is on Saturday, November 9th, 2024 at Audubon Park, New Orleans. Post-race celebration with music, games, and complimentary food and beverages will take place after the race! Runners have the opportunity to receive an official "Tiger Run 5K Run & Walk" participation shirt and finishers medal!
Race Information:
Registration will be $20 for all LSUHSC Students, $35 for non-students, and $15 for children 12 and under. Late registration will be held the morning of the race starting at 8:00 am. Race day registration will be $40 for all participants and $15 for children 12 and under.

LSUHSC’s Student Run Community Clinic (“SRCC”) is a non-profit organization run by medical students and physicians that has served the New Orleans area since 1991. SRCC provides a foundation of quality healthcare to only the underserved and disadvantaged of our community. SRCC consists of three branches: Ozanam Inn (Oz), Mobile Health Outreach (MHO), and our newest addition, Volunteers of America (VoA).
- Ozanam Inn meets every Saturday to provide primary care and well-checks to patients. By coordinating referrals, following up with regular patients, and ensuring all health-related concerns are answered, Oz aims to establish a professional relationship with our community members and alleviate social barriers to health.
- MHO was established by LSU medical students to give an introduction to and link to primary care services by approaching patients in non-traditional settings, targeting vulnerable populations such as persons affected by housing instability, substance use disorders, psychiatric disorders, and persons affected by general socioeconomic disadvantage. This bi-weekly clinic, currently established in Duncan Plaza, serves to bridge the gap in health resources in the form of off-site pop-up health points in the community.
- The VoA clinics provide primary care services and link patients to other healthcare providers by referring them to specialists as needed. At VoA, we focus on continuity of care and work to develop lasting relationships with our patients and any other healthcare providers they have.
