Thank you for supporting Wellwood's Walk/Run/Wheel!

Every client who walks, runs, wheels – or flies – through

our doors (or into our “virtual” rooms) is a hero.

So are our volunteers and donors.

Our clients need us, more than ever. We need you, more than ever, too.

As you know, the profile of “newly-diagnosed” clients has changed significantly to “newly-diagnosed at an advanced stage” – and our volunteers are being called upon to manage much more complex situations, with a crucial component of navigational assistance expanded well beyond cancer.

This year marks the incredible milestone of 30 years since Wellwood’s incorporation.

Wellwood has always pivoted to meet the needs of those with a diagnosis, as well as caregivers and chosen families. Clients are seeking more peer support and navigation than ever before, reminiscent of the urgent needs we saw in those early days, three decades ago.

A key commitment to clients, donors, volunteers and community is transparency.

Our 2024 Report to the Community reflects on: the importance of easily accessed financial disclosure; the diversity and inclusivity within our safe spaces; our collaborative model featuring constant referrals to other community organizations that can meet client needs; and ongoing assessment of our privacy processes. These are incredibly turbulent times for everyone, including small charities. We receive no funding from government, hospitals or national cancer organizations. We rely on grants, fundraising events and donations from “heroes” – like you – to do what we do.
