What is ARYSE?

The Alliance for Refugee Youth Support and Education (ARYSE) is a student-centered organization that supports immigrant and refugee youth in becoming engaged, confident, and celebrated members of our community. Through out-of-school-time programming that prioritizes literacy and the arts, ARYSE youth gain the tools they need to take their place as leaders within their communities and our world. 

What is the ARYSE Goes the Extra Mile Campaign?

This year, the Pittsburgh Marathon will take place on Sunday, May 4th. Since 2017, friends and supporters of ARYSE have joined a relay team or run individually in the Pittsburgh Marathon to fundraise for our programs. The Pittsburgh Marathon is, hands-down, one of the most exciting events in the city all year. We hope you join us as a runner, fundraiser, donor, and/or cheerleader on the day of!

How will my donation help?

We couldn't bring this work to life without our community of supporters. This year, our goal is to raise at least $30,000 through the marathon campaign, which will cover the essential expenses for our program like student transportation, interpretation and translation services, hot meals, and personnel. Thanks to donations from hundreds of individuals and local foundations, the program is completely free of cost to participants. Support from our marathon runners and their networks will help us keep it that way.
