Streamline sub-event selection with Smart Links
New Release | Estimated Read time – 4:00
We’re excited to introduce Smart Links, a new feature designed to streamline the sub-event selection process for your participants. Now, you can copy direct links that isolate a single sub-event or showcase a sub-event group. This enhancement makes it easier to guide participants to the exact registration options they need, reducing confusion and improving their overall experience.
Link to individual sub-events

Do you need to promote a specific option, like your 5K run? With Smart Links, you can copy a unique URL for any individual sub-event. When a participant clicks this link, they are taken directly into the registration form with that specific sub-event selected. All other options are hidden from view.

This feature is perfect for targeted marketing campaigns. If you’re running ads focused solely on your 10K, you can use a Smart Link to ensure that everyone who clicks through sees and selects only the 10K option. This eliminates the risk of participants accidentally signing up for the wrong race, especially in events with a large number of categories.
How it helps:
- Creates a seamless path from promotion to registration.
- Reduces participant confusion and potential errors.
- Ideal for targeted marketing and partnership promotions.
Showcase sub-event groups

Sometimes you need to direct participants to a curated set of options. Smart Links also allow you to group multiple sub-events together and share them with a single URL. When a participant uses this link, they will only see the sub-events included in that specific group, making it simple for them to choose from a relevant selection.
This is incredibly useful for organizing your registration form for different audiences. For example, you could create a group for all races happening on a Saturday versus those on a Sunday, or group all virtual-only options. By presenting only the most relevant choices, you simplify the decision-making process for your participants.
How it helps:
- Directs participants to a specific subset of offerings.
- Organizes registration for multi-day or multi-category events.
- Improves clarity by removing irrelevant options.
Provide registration links for hidden sub-events

Need to direct registrants to a sub-event that isn’t publicly visible on your main event page? Smart Links can help.
This feature is ideal for managing private registrations. You can create hidden sub-events for fundraising partners, elite athletes, and more. Just share the unique Smart Link with the designated audience, and they can register without their category being visible to the public. This approach ensures privacy and exclusivity while keeping your public registration page simple and clean.
How it helps:
- Provides exclusive access for specific groups, such as sponsors or VIPs.
- Keeps your main registration page clean and uncluttered.
- Allows for controlled access to special pricing or registration categories.
Other additions

We’ve streamlined sub-event management by creating a new, dedicated menu for each one. From this menu, you can now access sub-event smart links, edit sub-event details, and find the pre-existing registration links.
These registration links, which are the same ones generated in the Event Details pricing widget, simply pre-select the corresponding sub-event for attendees. For those who hide the pricing widget, this new menu offers a much quicker way to locate and share these specific links.
