We are seeing personalization more and more within the digital space. Many content consumers not only appreciate receiving content that is personalized and relevant, but they have come to expect it. In fact, as referenced by HubSpot, 92% of marketers say customers and prospects expect a personalized experience.

As an event organizer, you are likely no stranger to email content. There is always so much to communicate around your event and emails have proven to be a great way to do that. That’s why Race Roster has a built in email campaign tool, allowing you to put content together on the same platform you collect registrations, post results, and everything in between. We understand that all of your participants may have signed up for the same event, but there are so many other things to consider before sending out a mass email to every registrant.

Reach the right audience using triggers and merge tags

When it comes to event communications, sending personalized and relevant content is a great way to enhance the participant experience. Let’s say someone has signed up to run your 5K route. Sending them information that is irrelevant for a 5K — such as images of your 10K course map or a 10K training plan — would not be necessary! Race Roster’s email campaign tool allows you to set up triggers that will ensure you are delivering the right message to the right person.

For example, you can use triggers to only send your email to registrants of your 5K sub-event. You can even send emails based on the residential country of your participants, allowing you to direct participants to specific stores or the right sponsor website based on their country. This is a great way to showcase different merchandise based on what is available on each country’s website.

Additionally, you can take your content a step further by including personalized merge tags, such as “first name“, “registered sub-event“, “bib number“, “confirmation number” and more!

Send emails based on language

A great way to show your participants that their experience is a priority is to send emails based on language. When setting up your email campaign triggers, you can select a specific language from the dropdown and it will ensure your campaign only sends to participants who use Race Roster in that particular language!

We recently introduced the ability to change the language of your email footer. By default, this section displays your address and legal information in English. You now have the power to decide what language it will be displayed in!

Race Roster

At our core, we are event organizers and athletes serving event organizers and athletes. Race Roster was founded by a group of friends with combined interests in running, technology, and event management. After organizing their own 10K in 2010, it was very apparent that the running industry was in dire need of better technology. Since May of 2012, Race Roster has partnered with over 4,000 organizers to grow, manage and execute on race day!
