*** There is a direct correlation between information shared on your website and the number of phone calls and emails received the week of your event! Be wise and create an FAQ page! ***
Start Time – your event date and start time should be highly visible on your event website. Include the start time of all sub-events, the Zumba warm up 🙂 and your awards ceremony as well! Remember more info = less emails!
Parking – leave nothing to question, tell your participants the best places to park, include alternate locations should those fill up. If there is a fee be sure to make a note of this or work with the parking company to sell pre-paid tickets in your online registration.
Restrooms – when you gotta go, you gotta go! Tell your runners in advance where the port-a-potties will be. Include location near the start and finish and along the course.
Water Stations – believe it or not, some people won’t attend your event unless you have X amount of water stations along the course. Be clear about what you are prepared to offer. If you plan on offering an electrolyte solution, tell people what it is going to be in advance so they can test it out with their GI system before the event 🙂
Spectator Hotspots – events are family events, and many times mom is running and dad and the kids are watching or vice versa. It’s important to inform your spectators of the best places to watch their loved ones. If there is a spot on the course that seems quiet send people there. You may consider handing out free cowbells to spectators—they will love it!
