Offering incentives is a common marketing strategy to increase your event registration. Previously, you could create discounts for registrations or for products in the post-registration store, but imagine the opportunities if you had the flexibility to discount registrations and products within the registration flow…

Now using Race Roster, you can!

More options, more flexibility

The next time you add a new promotional code, you’ll notice three options for how you can apply your code:

Please note: When creating a sub-event + product promo code, the restrictions you apply to the sub-events do not affect the product discounts and vice versa.

After selecting what your code applies to, you’ll be prompted to select the specific sub-events or products your promo code should apply to. For greater flexibility, you’ll have the option of selecting from all three of our existing discount types with any of the new options:

  1. Percentage discount
  2. Flat fee discount
  3. Set price discount

How might I use this for my event?

With two new promo code options, you’ll be able to reward your partners and get creative with new marketing campaigns!

By applying discounts to sub-events and products by either percentage, a flat discount or set price, there are so many opportunities for unique incentives. Let’s take a closer look at how you might use the new product discount options for your event:

Product-only promo code

  • Create a product-only promo code to provide free shipping to anyone who registers in the next week.

  • Run a promotion to sign-up by a certain date and receive a free gift using the associated promo code.

  • Create buzz when opening
registration by offering a free gift to the first 100 registrants.

Sub-event AND product promo code

  • Provide your title sponsor 100% discount on registration and the $5 park fee that’s set-up as a product.

  • Participant transfers have closed, so you create a set fee registration + product promo code to charge the transfer fee and transfer the associated registration and product to the new participant.

Race Roster

At our core, we are event organizers and athletes serving event organizers and athletes. Race Roster was founded by a group of friends with combined interests in running, technology, and event management. After organizing their own 10K in 2010, it was very apparent that the running industry was in dire need of better technology. Since May of 2012, Race Roster has partnered with over 4,000 organizers to grow, manage and execute on race day!
