Race Roster Progress Update on Marketplace Facilitator Tax System
Race Roster is in the process of implementing technology to allow us to collect and remit state sales tax on behalf of applicable events in accordance with Marketplace Facilitator laws being enacted throughout the United States. Please review our August article “Marketplace Facilitator Tax – What you need to know” for more details on the law and what it means for your event.
We are excited to announce that we have made great progress since our August update and are looking forward to rolling out our Marketplace Facilitator Tax system this Spring.
It is our goal to release a system that makes it easy for our event organizers to assess and classify each product they are selling, while offering excellent reporting on what has been collected and remitted. Integrating this type functionality into the Race Roster platform is very complex and requires significant development resources; we feel fortunate to be working alongside the best tax professionals, lawyers, and service organizations to ensure a smooth transition for our customers.
We will keep you informed of our progress and let you know when Race Roster will begin collecting and remitting on your behalf. For now, all of our events should continue to collect and remit sales tax as they have been. If you have any questions, we encourage you to contact us at director@raceroster.com.
