New Validation Features: Simplify Discounts and Sub-event Access with Race Roster

Managing participant groups, tailored pricing, and special access just got easier for Event Organizers! Race Roster’s latest update brings powerful validation features designed to simplify these processes. With tools for exclusive discount application and sub-event access, you can create a seamless experience for your participants while saving time and effort.
Offer Discounts to Eligible Participants
With validation benefits, you can ensure only eligible participants receive special discounts—no promo codes required! Simply create a validation list in Race Roster CRM and specify the participant details to verify eligibility. During registration, participants will see a new “Discounts” section where they can choose from available discounts. If a discount requires validation, our system will automatically check their information against your list and clearly indicate their eligibility.
Use Case Ideas:
- Deferred Participants: Offer discounts to participants from a prior event based on amounts they’ve already paid.
- Corporate Employees: Provide agreed-upon pricing for employees while invoicing the company only for redemptions—no upfront payments required.
Exclusive Sub-Event Access for Select Groups
Validation lists also let you control access to specific sub-events. Whether it’s early access for loyal participants, member-exclusive registration, or capacity management for high-demand events, these tools ensure only approved groups can register.
How it works: Similar to the eligible discount set up, a validation list must be created first to specify who can register, and which data will dictate if they are eligible to register for a specific sub-event. Once your list is ready to go, you can visit your sub-event settings and enable the “require validation” toggle to select the list you would like to use for validation. Now, after a participant enters their details during registration, a participant will see a new “Access validation” section indicating their eligibility status.

- Early Registration for Loyal Participants: Reward repeat participants with early access to next year’s event.
- Reserved Spots for Clubs: Ensure club members get priority access to your event by reserving spots for them.
Pro Tip: Set Validation Dates
Set a start and end date to require validation during a specific time frame, or set only an end date to have a specific cut-off date for validation requirements. This can be done for both discount application and sub-event access eligibility.
General Discounts for Everyone Made Simple
In addition to validation-based benefits, Race Roster now allows you to set up general discounts that can be applied to any participant’s registration. This is perfect for flash sales, holiday promotions, or time-sensitive campaigns, eliminating the need for promo codes and ensures a smooth registration experience.

- 48-Hour Flash Sales: Run promotions like 15% off all registrations for a limited time.
