EnMotive Customers: Seamless Event Migration

Custom map markers have arrived to Race Roster’s Predictive Tracking tool. This feature is not only great for on-site spectators, it’s also beneficial for timers and event organizers.

Why? Continue reading to find out!

What is a custom map marker?

While tracking a participant’s predicted race progress, viewers can now drop a point anywhere on the course map to view stats for that particular placement.

Custom markers will be placed at these points, and can be set at any distance between the start and finish line, or will generate a marker relative to their current location along the race route.

Who can use custom map markers?

1. Onsite Spectators

Using the GPS of the spectator’s device, Race Roster’s system will find the closest point on the course and set up a custom marker at that point. With their custom marker set, they’ll be able to quickly see up-to-date predictions of when they will see each of their followed participants pass by.

They’ll also be able to view their location on the course map to confirm they are on the route and guide them in the right direction toward the race; or manually set custom map markers by entering a distance along the route that corresponds to their location.

2. Event Organizers & Timers

Need to know when to close or reopen that intersection? Need to know when to dismiss that course marshal? As a timer or event organizer, you can follow the likely leaders and trailing participants in your race. Set custom markers to see the predicted time of day that the initial and last participants will be crossing those locations you care about!

Race Roster

At our core, we are event organizers and athletes serving event organizers and athletes. Race Roster was founded by a group of friends with combined interests in running, technology, and event management. After organizing their own 10K in 2010, it was very apparent that the running industry was in dire need of better technology. Since May of 2012, Race Roster has partnered with over 4,000 organizers to grow, manage and execute on race day!
