Two of London’s most innovative tech companies have been accepted by a Canadian Technology Accelerator, CTA@NYC, in Manhattan, New York.

Starting March 2, 2015, Voices.com and Race Roster will be sending teams to the Big Apple in an initiative to access key resources to accelerate their respective companies’ growth. Of the five Canadian brands selected to participate, these two London, Ontario companies made the final cut.

Race Roster, a local tech company that supports endurance sport event planning, fundraising, and marketing, was founded by a group of high school friends and now employs a team of thirty. The firm will be working in New York from March to June for the program.

“The Canadian Technology Accelerator presents our team with an opportunity to learn from technology leaders in New York and to build on our success,” says Race Roster’s Co-Founder and CEO, Alex Vander Hoeven. “Learning how to pitch, market, and adapt our technology in a fast-moving industry will help us continue to innovate and make guided decisions.”

Voices.com, who will be travelling with Race Roster’s team, has a workforce made up of over seventy Londoners and is Internet’s most popular website to find professional voice-over talent.Voices.com has been accepted into the CTA@NYC program as part of the 2015 digital media cohort. Just two years ago, the company participated in a similar CTA program offered at RocketSpace in San Francisco, and, in doing so, developed relationships with several partners. The London-based web company intends to stay in New York for the full 4 months of the program. Voices.com’s team will be in the heart of New York’s tech district while working in the Grind Broadway co-working office space.

“This is an opportunity that will allow us to take Voices.com to the world’s biggest stage, New York City,” explains David Ciccarelli, CEO and Founder of the company. “Our team in New York will be discovering new clients, forging partnerships, and establishing relationships with media organizations.”

New York City is increasingly taking centre-stage as a hotbed for internet-based technology entrepreneurship, and is considered a hotbed for the advertising, media, fashion/retail, financial services industries. This opportunity, via the Consulate General in New York, is one that will have an incredible impact for the Canadian business economy through Race Roster and Voices.com.

Race Roster

At our core, we are event organizers and athletes serving event organizers and athletes. Race Roster was founded by a group of friends with combined interests in running, technology, and event management. After organizing their own 10K in 2010, it was very apparent that the running industry was in dire need of better technology. Since May of 2012, Race Roster has partnered with over 4,000 organizers to grow, manage and execute on race day!
